Rick and Morty Szechuan Sauce Sells for Thousands Nothing Matters

first_img Toy Tuesday: The Schwiftiest ‘Rick & Morty’ ToysTop Movie and TV Trailers to Watch From SDCC 2019 Stay on target It’s been a few weeks since the surprise premiere of Rick and Morty season three but we’re all still just so happy that the totally hilarious, shockingly dark, and absolutely brilliant sci-fi Adult Swim cartoon has finally returned. One joke, in particular, has set the internet on fire. Apparently, everyone agrees that the Mulan Szechuan Chicken McNugget sauce that Rick obsesses over was great and should make a comeback. In retrospect, it was only a matter of time before someone found some of the newly relevant McDonald’s condiment. What we didn’t know was how much someone was willing to pay for this joke, until now. A unopened pack of the Szechuan sauce recently sold for $14,700 on eBay..@McDonalds vintage ‘Sichuan sauce’ sold on eBay for US$14,700 https://t.co/KorOeG63gy pic.twitter.com/6vwbBTxISV— SCMP News (@SCMP_News) April 13, 2017According to the seller, “ I just bought a really old car, while cleaning it I found a packet of this sauce. After watching the recent episode of Rick and Morty, I went online to see if it was worth anything. Turns out it was. Also, this comes with a packet of wasabi as well.” And as for their personal wishes for the sauce’s fate, “I hope somebody who wants to eat some 20-year-old gnarly sauce gets this. I would prefer not to sell it to a collector.”If more packets of the sauce suddenly get “discovered” we’ll see if they also command prices this high. Rick and Morty season three doesn’t begin in earnest until this summer, so this joke is all we have to tide us over until then (unless you’re have a computer and headset that can run the excellent Rick and Morty VR game). If we’re talking about McDonald’s nostalgia that needs a comeback, I wonder what Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon think about Mac Tonight? Rick and Morty, I’m lovin’ it!last_img read more
