NEW DELHI: Delhi government led by the Aam Aadmi Party will co-operate with the Centre to improve law and order in city keeping aside the politics, asserted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday after nine murders were reported in the national capital on Sunday. He also said that the CCTV cameras installed by the Delhi government at every Vidhan Sabha constituency will help improve the law and order situation in Delhi.”All of us need to work together to improve the law and order situation in Delhi. Safety and security of each Delhiite is important for us. Delhi govt will provide all cooperation to Centre,” tweed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The CM took to Twitter to question the safety and security of Delhiites after an elderly couple and their helper was murdered at their residence in Vasant Vihar, saying the city had witnessed nine murders in the space of 24 hours. The Delhi Police comes under the purview of the central government. “Delhi is witnessing a dangerous spurt in serious crimes. An elderly couple and their domestic help murdered in Vasant Vihar. Nine murders reported in last 24 hours across the city. Whose door should be knocked for safety & security of Delhiites ?,” CM Kejriwal tweeted. Responding to CM Kejriwal’s tweet, the Delhi Police uploaded a graph showing a 10% decrease in heinous crimes compared to 2018 and a 22% decrease in crimes committed against senior citizens due to preventive efforts of the police.
