first_imgMadeleine in Donegal, pictured second from left in April 2007. She disappeared in Portugal two weeks laterRED-faced Portugese police officials are insisting they have not launched a new investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann – but have now promised to help English police trace and interview more than 30 ‘persons of interest’ in the case.No detectives involved in the original investigation into her disappearance on the Algarve in May 2007 will be taking part in the new probe. The ‘persons of interest’ were named in a document put together by Scotland Yard as part of a review of the case. With Maddie’s father Gerry having strong links to Donegal, there is considerable interest here in the case.Madeleine visited the county with her family just weeks before she disappeared.Recently a taxi driver in Portugal came forward to claim that he had told police he had seen Maddie with a couple in his taxi on the night of the disappearance. He is among those who will now be interviewed properly. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading the UK police review of the case has said he believes Madeleine is still alive. PORTUGESE POLICE PROMISE NEW MADELEINE McCANN ‘PROBE’ was last modified: August 26th, 2013 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Algarvedonegalmadeleine mccannportugallast_img read more

ULSTER SFC SEMI-FINAL: MCFADDEN BACK IN STARTING LINE-UP AS GALLAGHER SELECTS SIDE TO FACE DERRY

first_imgGAA: Rory Gallagher has brought back Colm McFadden into his side for tomorrow’s Ulster SFC semi-final clash with Derry at Clones. McFadden missed the Armagh win after he picked up a virus the day before the clash at the Athletic Grounds.Mark McHugh who replaced McFadden that day has retained his place at the expense of Marty O’Reilly. O’Reilly scored his first championship goal for Donegal in that emphatic win over Armagh and will feel hard aggrieved at being dropped. But it only reiterates the strength at Gallagher’s disposal and O’Reilly will be a serious option for the Donegal manager to turn to tomorrow night in Clones. The full team to face Derry is:No.1 Paul Durcan No.2 Paddy McGrathNo.3 Neil McGeeNo.4 Eamon McGeeNo.5 Mark McHughN0.6 Karl Lacey N0.7 Frank McGlynnNo.8 Neil GallagherN0.9 Martin McElhinneyN0.10 Christy Toye N0.11 Odhran Mac NiallaisN0.12 Ryan McHughN0.13 Patrick McBreartyN0.14 Michael MurphyN0.15 Colm McFaddenULSTER SFC SEMI-FINAL: MCFADDEN BACK IN STARTING LINE-UP AS GALLAGHER SELECTS SIDE TO FACE DERRY was last modified: June 26th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:ClonesDerrydonegalGAANamedteamUlster SFClast_img read more
