It was revealed that talks had been held between interested parties, and to which JP McManus was invited. Dr Hugh Maguire of the Hunt Museum stated at the time that it would be of great benefit to the city if a clean up operation was put in place.Sign up for the weekly Limerick Post newsletter Sign Up Well, it emerged this week that McManus, through his charitable foundation, is making such funds available.The decision had been taken following talks with the developers of the site.According to a spokesperson for the foundation, their involvement will not make for a permanent solution, just that they want to make the city look good.There is to be an emphasis on carrying out improvement to the lower sections of buildings on Patrick Street, Rutland Street and Ellen Street.The amount being donated has not been disclosed.The Opera Centre site, currently on the books of NAMA, developed into an eyesore within one year of plans to develop a multi-million euro shopping centre.Property owners in the three streets had benefited handsomely, with huge sums paid out to finalise deals, some of which had been ongoing for years. Kopernik Observatory excited about SpaceX launch

It’s actually going to be a little less expensive for us to do it this way, but also its really for the continuation of the exploration of space,” says Deskur. Kopernik says Wednesday’s mission is a less expensive way to get astronauts into space and will provide more control over future space missions. Deskur continues, “Eileen Collins grew up in Elmira, Dan Bursch grew up in Vestal, both retired from the astronaut corp. Doug Wheelock grew up in Windsor, and then Doug Hurley, so they used to call them the Route 17 crew.” VESTAL (WBNG) — Those at Kopernik Observatory and Science Center shared their excitement with 12 news ahead of Wednesday’s SpaceX launch. NASA currently has a goal of sending astronauts back to the moon by 2024. The observatory says, Douglas Hurley an astronaut from Apalachin, will be the pilot for the mission. Kopernik says Hurley is one of four astronauts to come from the Southern Tier. Drew Deskur, the Executive Director of the observatory says all four grew up in the area.last_img read more
